Zak Argabrite is a composer, sound artist and audio engineer from Louisville, KY based in New York, NY interested in how sound, ability, performance, listening and social/cultural ritual can relate to agency and awareness of the people and things around us. Zak creates pieces for performance and installation, inventing and building in a variety of mediums surrounding the concert and sound art domains including performance notation, instrument building and handmade electronics. Zak has also had the privilege to write music for large ensembles such as orchestras, big bands, chamber ensembles and collaborate with a wide range of musical voices and perspectives.
