ZongYun We, 2015 Participant

Born in South Korea, ZongYun We started her study in composition at Seoul National University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in composition. She began her career as a composer and arranger in film music with credits on Like You Know It All, Vegetarian, Oki’s Movie, and many others. Several of these films were invited to international film festivals such as Sundance, Venice Film Festival, and New York Film Festival. Relocated to the United States in 2010, she has resided in Boston, Los Angeles, and New York City, and her music has been heard in different music festivals, workshops, and concerts. Her recent performances include works for piano trio LONGLEASH, Argus Quartet, and the ensemble LOADBANG. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music in film scoring, and a Master of Music in composition from Manhattan School of Music in New York City, studying with Reiko Füting. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Music at McGill University in Monréal, Canada.
